Brakes, clutch and suspension are the three systems where wear is gradual enough that you stop noticing it. The pedal gets a little longer, the bite point creeps up, the car floats a bit more over a bump, and because it happened over months it feels normal. It is worth having them looked at on a schedule rather than on a symptom.

We replace brake pads and rotors, bleed and replace brake fluid, and deal with the hardware around them: seized calliper slide pins, perished flexible hoses, and park brake cables that have stiffened up. On a coastal car that hardware is usually what fails first, because damp salt air works on it long before the pads run out. Clutch repairs and suspension work are quoted before anything is started.
